New: Instructions for Speakers on How to Upload Slides for Talks
To upload slides for a talk, please login to EasyChair where you can access your submission. Please click on the right-hand upper corner 'submit a new version' option. This will take you to a page where you can browse to the location of your talk and able you to choose the file containing your talk. Then by pressing 'Submit a New Version', your presentation is attached to your submission. After that on information page of your submission, the attachment will show as a link to 'paper' and by clicking it, you'll be able to review it. If at a later stage there is a need to change something, just repeat the above and the presentation will be replaced by the updated one.
All slides are due March 30, 2012.

The Fifth International Biocuration Conference is a unique event for curators and developers of biological databases to discuss their work, promote collaborations, and foster a sense of community. To this end the organizers invite you to submit your work for inclusion in the meeting.
Submit your abstract for presentation (poster only) via EasyChair:
Once logged in, you will be directed to a page with menu tabs on the top.
To start the submission process, please click on the 'Submission' tab,
which will take you to the submission form. Please follow the guidelines
on the submission form. The title and the abstract should be entered in plain
text and should not contain HTML elements. The abstract should be written in
an unstructured format. Separate sections for Background, Materials and Methods,
etc., are not needed. Abstract should not exceed 500 words.
Authors should select all relevant topic sessions
(listed above on this instruction page).
In the 'Upload Paper' section at the bottom of the submission form in the EasyChair interface, please tick the box 'Abstract Only'. When the form is adequately filled out, please press the 'Submit' button which appears at the end of the submission form. You will receive an email from EasyChair stating that your submission was successful. This email is solely a notification that EasyChair for BC 2012 has received the abstract.

Authors wishing to submit to DATABASE
for the 2012 BIOCURATION VIRTUAL ISSUE should go to the DATABASE home page and follow
the guidelines on the "Instructions to Authors" section. When ready, authors will start the
process of submission by following the link "Submit Now!". All authors must CLEARLY state for
the staff at DATABASE that they are submitting this manuscript for consideration for the 2012
Annual Biocuration Conference, to ensure appropriate fast-track options for inclusion in the
proceedings of this meeting. Finally, when filling the DATABASE submission form, authors MUST
select "Biocuration Conference Paper" as their manuscript type (see figure below).
Accepted papers will be given special consideration by the session chairs for selection as oral presentations.
In the event that an accepted paper does not fit the scope of any of the session topics, the paper will still be
considered for publication in DATABASE, although it may not be invited for an oral presentation at the conference.
The Journal DATABASE will create a virtual issue with papers from the Biocuration Conference in Washington DC on
April 2-4, 2012. This virtual issue will be printed and distributed to conference attendees.
